9:00: Welcome Session

Get an official welcome from NJIT and your acadmic college. Here you will meet one of your most important resources, the NSO peer leaders, and learn more about what your college has to offer.

 


9:45: Academic Advisement

Various Locations

 

Meet with your academic adviser for the first time and learn what to expect in the coming years!


10:45: Peer Leader Session

Various Locations

 

Students will split up into groups - please see your name tag for your group number. You will have the opportunity to meet with your peer leaders and group members, break the ice, and get an intro to NJIT from the student perspective!


11:15: Breakout Session #1

 

Life as a Campus Resident - Jim Wise TheaterResidents will learn more about the resources, programs, policies, and services offered. 

 

Life as a Campus Commuter - WEC Exercise Room Commuters will learn more about transportation options and what opportunities and resources are available to them.

Speed Networking - Various Locations: a quick-paced, fun activity that will help you get to know each other!

 


12:00: Honors College Advisement & Lunch

Locations: Albert Dorman Honors College, 210 & 211A

 

Honors College students who are fully admitted will pick up lunch and attend advisement on the 2nd floor of the Honors College Building.

Part talk-show, part game-show, this session will give you all the info you need to understand how to finance your amazing education at NJIT! There are prizes for the winning team.

Getting Connected into Greek Life - WEC Lecture Hall: Learn more about fraternity and sorority life in NJIT with a panel featuring affiliated peer leaders and the Director of Greek Life!

 

Proud to be First: What it Means to be a First Generation College Students - Central King Building (CKB) 116: Are you the first person in your family to attend college? Hear from other first generation college students and learn about the resources that will help you succeed at NJIT. 

 

Experiential Learning: Internships & Research Opportunities - Jim Wise Theater: Find out how to enhance your education outside of the classroom through research, co-ops, internships, and service learning!

The most exciting way to learn about your campus resources. Head out in teams using an smart phone app to various locations, conquer team challenges, and win the game! The team with the most points wins a prize!


4:45: NJIT Narratives & Closing Session

Location: Jim Wise Theater

 

Join together with your fellow classmates one last time as you reflect on everything you've experienced today and hear some interesting stories from peer leaders. We will also announce the winners of the Highlander Game! See you at NSO 2.0!
